About Karen

Karen has been the owner of  her Salon since 1994. She has been instrumental in the formation and opening of a full service day spa, and also a Spa Director.  Providing beauty care services and assisting clients achieve the improvements they desire continues to be her most rewarding challenge and joy.  Her beauty treatments typically incorporate other holistic natural therapies beyond following a customized home skin care program.  Lifestyle choices including vitamin and herbal supplementation, proper exercise, and intake of fresh air and water all offer invaluable assistance in attaining that youthful appearance most people are looking to maintain. Receiving her training from Pivot Point International in Chicago, Karen has been a Licensed Nail Technician since 1988 and a Licensed Esthetician since 1994.  She has successfully completed over 300 hours of continuing education, concentrating her studies on specialized treatments for anti-aging, sun damage, and acne management.  Other areas of training include cosmetic chemistry, make up design, bridal make up, scalp treatments, reflexology, acupressure, reike energy work, aromatherapy, flower essence and new age body therapies. 

 She is an active member in the Chicago Cosmetologists Association, the National Cosmetologists Association, and the International Nail Technicians Association and participates in the ongoing effort of improving the level of education and               professionalism of the industry.  She is also a member of the Palatine Chamber of Commerce.
